I think the book is not worth reading. But some parts are ok. But most of it is boring or just plain confusing. First of all, the book is not in chronological order, which makes it very confusing. Second of all, the book just goes over what he did in Alaska, basically what the front of the book said. This spoils the book. Third of all, the book just trys to make a point that Chris was not suicidal and he wanted to live. It goes over this the whole book, which makes it very repeating and boring. The whole book could just say, Chris McCandless did not know how to survive in the Wild because he was inexperienced.
I like Chris. He just wanted to get away from normal life and spend some time to do something he liked, nature. All he was doing was camping, not wanting to die. I don't think he was stupid for making the trip into Alaska. Like the book said, Chris was into nature and not as much into girls. So he was just doing what he liked. He seemed like a nice kid by the people describing him. I like how he was a hard worker, even at McDonalds.
